In my second part of this series where I’m keeping everything basically simple, I decided to work with my friend Jenna who is a great professional model and Samantha White an outstanding local make up artist. We worked on some different styles and looks from fine art to boudoir.
For camera gear, I used a Nikon D700 with a Nikon’s AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8 ED Lens. In the studio, I used the same simple molted brown muslin background; and for lights, a pair of Dynalite UNI400-JR Monolights with a strip dome soft box on one and barn doors with a diffuser on the other. The only change on this shoot I used some reflectors to bounce back light on Jenna from the front and side.
Working with Jenna and Samantha is a dream, they knew what I’m looking for and the posing and makeup was just spot on! Boudoir can be tricky to pull off, it’s much more than a glamour type shot, you are trying to get the look and the pose to show the beauty of the female figure in a very classy way. The look we achieved was what I was looking for, I love the classic lighting from the 1930s, 40s and 50s. It was a time where things were done in a great style from the industrial design to photography of that era.
As with the previous post all the images were shot in RAW with the Nikon D700, and brought into Adobe Lightroom where I turned them into B&W. There is virtually no editing done to the images at all.
