Show “Lucky 13”! For a while it didn’t look good for the 13th show. Right off the SD card on my portable digital recorder would not format, and I was unable to record on it. Luckily I had an extra one in my gear bag. I also had a gimpy microphone cord that was giving me fits, so I had to retire it (and the SD card) after the show was recorded.
In this show I discuss smartphone photography with returning co-host Joe Engelbrecht. Since the smart phone basically made the “point and shoot” digital cameras obsolete, could it also replace your DSLR or mirrorless camera on certain tasks, such as travel photos or creative work? There has been great strides in software, and there are so many great little apps for your smart phone. Even now you have the capability of shooting in RAW, but can it make up for it’s small sensor size in you smartphone? Joe has a great article about smartphone photography on his blog.
